I got to thinking about distance. There\u2019s this saying I heard recently: \u201cSometimes you just need to distance yourself from people. If they care, they\u2019ll notice. If they don\u2019t, you know where you stand.\u201d I\u2019m guilty of pulling away from people when they disappoint me. But I\u2019ve come to understand that distance isn\u2019t a bad thing. Sometimes space will give us answers, and solve our dilemmas. We can deal with these dilemmas in an easier fashion if we have time to think it over. But I\u2019ve always discovered that we must give those who keep crawling back into our lives a chance. These are the people who seek our friendship, who want to be forgiven. And these are the people we must forgive. So give yourself distance. See who comes back. It isn\u2019t a mind game. It\u2019s merely figuring out what you want in a friend after a betrayal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
